Sponne School in Towcester is the oldest secondary school in Northamptonshire, and one of the oldest in the country. It has 1,358 pupils on the roll and around 280 students are in the Sixth Form. In its last Ofsted inspection, Sponne School was rated Outstanding.
Sponne School became a SIMS school in September 2014 and has been using the school communication tool SIMS InTouch for 18 months. The school had already been working hard to get parents on board with online communications, but was keen to link their systems together to streamline communications for students and parents. Currently only administrative staff at Sponne School use SIMS InTouch in order to efficiently manage all of their communications.
Saving money
Since its implementation, the school has been using SIMS InTouch to send out a range of communications to parents and students, saving significant costs on paper. Jo Hockton, Sponne School’s Data Manager, explains: “We’ve got ourselves into a situation where we’re communicating in advance wherever possible, which is better for everybody."
