Welcome to our latest product release update for SIMS Next Gen. We’ve got some exciting news to share starting with the launch of Conduct Events for our early adopter schools. This is a big step forward in helping schools manage student behaviour more effectively. Plus, we’ve made improvements to the Admin Console and added a handy ‘Created by’ column for Custom Groups to make your life a little easier. Whether you're managing a classroom or overseeing school operations, we’ve been working hard to give you functionality that makes a real difference.
Let’s jump into what’s new!
Conduct Events: Now live for early adopter schools
We’re thrilled to announce that Conduct Events is now live for our early adopter schools! This marks the next step in revolutionising how schools manage student behaviour in SIMS.
“It was essential for us to engage with schools using Conduct in SIMS, as well as those who weren't, to gain a full understanding of their needs.
The top priorities we heard from schools were flexibility and simplicity. They want a system where the information required for an event could vary based on its severity, and teachers needed to be able to record conduct events quickly and easily - especially during class.
As a result, we’re taking a brand-new approach to Conduct in SIMS Next Gen - giving schools full control over what data teachers are required to input. This not only saves time for teachers but also reduces the burden on system administrators to chase down missing information.
We are also making sure that the system is highly configurable so that data managers can easily align it with their school’s specific behaviour policy. And one of the most exciting features is the seamless integration with Class View, allowing teachers to add or review conduct events right from their classroom screens”.

Staff Department Settings within the Admin Console
We’ve made significant improvements to the Staff Department Settings, allowing school administrators and personnel officers to navigate between departments with ease. Whether you're making updates, activating, deactivating, or deleting departments, the new bulk action feature lets you manage multiple departments simultaneously, saving valuable time for other tasks.
Custom Groups: ‘Created by’ column
With our new 'Created by' column, school admins and data managers can now easily track who created each custom group. This small but powerful update allows you to filter groups by their creator, making it faster and easier to find the groups you’re looking for.
