Our time and cost savings are based on your inputs and averages taken from SIMS schools. They are intended only as a guide and are not a guarantee. Savings are calculated based on the assumption that your school is not currently using another electronic communication tool.

  • Cost of 1 phone call = £0.25
  • Cost of 1 SIMS InTouch text message = £0.04
  • Cost of printing 1 page document = £0.06. This figure is an estimate based on the cost of ink and paper, plus use of envelopes for most communications
  • Cost of postage = £0.55. The postage cost is based on a second class stamp
  • Staff timetables are 1 page documents and 3 are sent per year. Time spent sending staff timetables = 20 mins, 3 times per year = 1 hour
  • Assessment reports are published 2 times per year and consist of a 3 page document. Time spent sending assessment reports = 3 hours, 2 times per year = 6 hours
  • Newsletters are published 38 times per year (weekly in term time) and consist of a 5 page document. Time spent sending newsletters = 2 hours, 38 times per year = 76 hours

Time spent sending exam timetables to schools with sixth forms = 4 hours, 3 times per year = 12 hours. Time spent sending exam results = 2 minute per pupil, 3 times per year
