SIMS Next Gen is the future of school MIS.
We are investing £40m into ensuring that schools have access to enhanced cloud-based functionality that sits alongside existing SIMS features. These will allow SIMS users to adopt features at their own pace, minimising any disruption, migration or data loss.
Next Gen is a continuous programme of customer driven innovation, designed to add value to SIMS, and improve the working lives of teachers, leaders, and a whole host of other roles and users.
Customer led
Next Gen is for the customer. We’ve undertaken a major customer listening exercise – interviewing users, testing usability, launching pilots, conducting surveys – and your feedback has shaped Next Gen. SIMS Next Gen delivers what schools want, future proofing SIMS and providing better value.
With broad, deep MIS functionality, Next Gen will make managing school life easier and more efficient, empowering teachers, senior leaders, and office staff with the time, tools, and insights to enhance learner outcomes.
Building the future
An improved, more intuitive user experience, alongside a focus on privacy & security, seamless partner integrations and powerful analytics that are available anytime, anywhere – this is the bedrock of Next Gen.
Innovation does not mean disruption. That’s why the building blocks of Next Gen will be laid out over time – a rapid, feature rich deployment. This means schools get access to the latest and the best cloud innovation, while remaining flexible. SIMS 7 and SIMS Connected will both continue to have all functionality available to users, as we ramp up SIMS Next Gen functionality alongside.
Delivering SIMS Next Gen
Our teams are working at pace to roll out key features. We’re in the process of delivering Take Register and my colleague Martina Spencer wrote this blog which takes a deeper look.
As part of the £40m investment, the Next Gen team at SIMS will more than double in size. With 8 cross-functional teams already in place, a further 4 new teams are being established – backed by a SLT and supported by a pool of MIS software experts, these new teams will help define the market.
We look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks and months.
